Equality and Diversity Training for students

The training slides provided at the right hand side of this page (available in English and Welsh) provide an introduction to some key equality principles and legal requirements for students.


The slides should take approximately 30 minutes to complete plus a 10 minute quiz.

An Introduction to Equality and Diversity for PGR Students

This module provides an introduction to Equality and Diversity for PGR Students who teach. The module includes information about the roles and responsibilities of students who teach in relation to the legal requirements of the Equality Act 2010, the University's commitment to Equality and Diversity (including a framework of relevant policies), the benefits of good practice and the practical application of legal requirements. There is a quiz at the end of the module to assist understanding of the information included.

Equality Training - all students

This module provides an introduction to the subject of Equality and Diversity suitable for all students. It covers the  legislation, prejudice/stereotyping, the moral and business case for equality and the different types of discrimination. The end of module quiz helps to check understanding of the material presented.

Equality Training for Student Representatives 

This module provides an introduction to Equality and Diversity for Students who have been selected as ‘Student Representatives’. The module includes information about the Equality Act 2010, the University's commitment to Equality and Diversity (including a framework of relevant policies), the benefits of good practice and how student representatives can promote equality and diversity in their roles. There is a quiz at the end of the module to assist understanding of the information included.
