Invitation to Free 'Diversity Challenge 2011' forum: A discussion for students and staff
15 November 2011, 10:30am to 3:30pm, Trevithick Building (seminar rooms 1 & 2)
We warmly welcome students and staff to our Diversity Challenge 2011 event. This discussion forum will help us to engage and inspire us to consider future challenges for equality and diversity at Cardiff University. Our aim is to help us understand the current needs of the University and directly contribute to developing equality objectives for forthcoming years.
We will present two ‘inspirational’ speakers;
• Joy Ogeh-Hutfield, Lamajo Consulting (external), specialising in cultural diversity leadership and development, and
• Professor Ralph Fevre, Cardiff School of Social Sciences (internal), who has just completed research on workplace bullying and harassment.
We shall also have a range of discussion workshops facilitated by external equality organisations (e.g. Stonewall Cymru, Chwarae Teg, Chaplaincy) and internal staff (e.g. Students’ Union President, HR and Widening Access staff) who will focus on equality perspectives for the protected characteristics of age, disability, gender reassignment, sex (meaning gender), sexual orientation, race and religion/belief.
We will also provide free lunch and hope that you will take advantage of this networking opportunity.
