Equality and Diversity Lecture Series
The Equality and Diversity Lecture series is organised by the Women Professors Forum and brings speakers of international distinction to Cardiff University to deliver prestigious public lectures.
The first lecture entitled A celebration of Women in astronomy will be given by renowned astrophysicist Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell on Wednesday 10th November 2010.
Cardiff University Women Professors Forum
Cardiff University values diversity and actively promotes equality of opportunity. The Women Professors Forum aims to act as a catalyst for change, both in the professional actions and perceptions of its members and in the culture and practice of the University.
Specifically, it aims to:
- support senior women academics in identifying opportunities and pursuing the achievement of their full career potential in Higher Education;
- create opportunities for its members to understand and develop effective leadership and management skills in Higher Education;
- identify and grow a culture of inclusiveness and empowerment that increasingly mainstreams gender equality across the University;
- contribute to positive strategic change in the culture of Higher Education, giving greater prominence to the particular styles of leadership in which women excel.
