Funding & fees

I live in Wales

Cardiff University will charge an annual fee of £9,000 per annum. However, subject to terms and conditions, students who live in Wales and are studying towards their first degree will not have to pay their tuition fees upfront. They could be eligible for:

  • a non-repayable tuition fee grant of £5,190 from the Welsh Government (subject to terms and conditions).
  • a repayable tuition fee loan of £3,810 which you only start to pay back when you have finished your studies and are earning more than £21,000pa (subject to terms and conditions).

Student Finance Wales has published a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding student finance which you may find helpful.

Health Related Courses

In recent years, tuition fees for UK/EU students awarded NHS funded places for undergraduate health courses – Dental Hygiene, Dental Therapy, Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Radiography – have been paid by the NHS. Further information about what financial support will be available in 2015/16 will be published on the NHS website in due course.
