With several thousand people arriving all at once, the roads around campus can be very busy on open days. If it's your first visit to Cardiff, driving into the city to find parking could be time consuming, stressful and expensive. To avoid the hassle and cost we recommend using the Park & Ride.
There are a couple of car parks within walking distance of Park Place. The Dumfries Place NCP car park is £19 for the day and near the rest of the city centre. The North Road car park is £8.20 for the day and near Bute Park & the civic centre.
Destination: Museum Avenue, CF10
Coaches should approach the University along King Edward VII Avenue, turn into College Road and right into Museum Avenue where they can unload.
Destination: Cardiff Airport
Several inter-regional and international air services operate from Cardiff Airport which is about 12 miles from the city centre. Cardiff Airport Express Bus runs between the airport and the city centre. For further details, please visit the airport’s website.
Destination: Cardiff University (Park Place) via Cardiff Central bus station if necessary
Some bus/coach services will stop outside the University on Park Place. If yours does not, you can get a local bus from the main bus station to the University. Please contact Traveline Cymru for specific details.
Please note: Visitors interested in Healthcare Sciences, Medicine and Dentistry are kindly asked to make their way to the Cathays Park Campus where most open day activities are based and staff from the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry and Healthcare sciences will be available.
