Cardiff Business School
Minimum Entry Requirements
Advanced GCEs (A-Levels) Standard offer
AAB in the three best A Levels with a minimum of grade B in Maths and grade C in English Language GCSE.
For NT12 Business Studies and Japanese, ABB is accepted in the three best A Levels with a minimum of grade C in Maths and English GCSEs.
Subjects Acceptable
All subjects (excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking and Citizenship) are accepted by the School.
Students applying for BSc (Econ) Economics (L100) and BSc (Econ) Economics and Finance (LN13) are required to take GCE A level Mathematics to cater for the quantitative element of several of the modules that make up the programme. Students not taking A-level Mathematics may be eligible to apply to join L100 and LN13 in the second year of their degree programme provided that they perform well in the core modules of their first year.
A/S levels
2 A/S levels are not accepted in lieu of one A2 level by the School.
Welsh Baccalaureate Standard Offer
Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma with a pass in the Core and grades AA in two GCE A-levels.
Vocational A-levels
The School accepts vocational A levels, though these must be supplemented with at least two Advanced GCEs and the total number of A Levels taken should amount to a minimum of three.
Key Skills
The School does not include qualifications in key skills in its offers.
BTEC National Diploma
The School accepts a business related BTEC qualification and an overall distinction/distinction/distinction profile would enable students to apply. Admissions tutors will also give consideration to the applicant's GCSE profile and in some cases may invite applicants for an interview.
BTEC Higher National Diploma
The School accepts a business related BTEC qualification and students with an overall distinction profile MAY BE eligible to apply for direct entry into year two.
Access courses
The School accepts Access courses from students who wish to return to full time study. Such applicants should apply to the School for details.
Other
Applicants offering alternative/vocational/overseas qualifications are welcome, as are those who may have combinations of qualifications.
In the case of applicants whose first language is not English, competence in the English language is also a criterion of admission. More information is available at:

Additional Requirements for Admission
There are no specific additional requirements for admission.
Resit Candidates
The standard offer generally applies to students re-sitting their examinations. If students do not meet the entry criteria based on performance in re-sit exams, the admissions tutor may take into account exam results in a previous year but there can be no guarantee that this is the case.
