Pharmacy
A-level
ABB or AAB to include Chemistry and at least one other science subject, preferably Biology, Mathematics or Physics. General Studies is not accepted.
AS
Not accepted.
IRL
AAAAABB at Higher Level.
IB
Obtain Diploma with an overall score of 34 points to include Chemistry, and ideally Biology, Mathematics or Physics at Higher Level. A grade 6 is required in these subjects.
EB
Obtain Diploma with an overall average of 70%. Subjects must include English, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics and scores of 8/10 are required in these areas.
BTEC
A-level Chemistry, minimum grade B is required alongside BTEC Pharmaceutical sciences at double distinction.
Vocational A-Level
A combination of A-level Chemistry and a twelve unit Vocational A-level in Advanced Science may be acceptable.
Welsh Baccalaureate
320 points from 18 units to include WB plus A level Chemistry and one other A level, preferably from Biology, Physics and Maths at AB grades.
Scottish Higher
AAABB
Key Skills
Evidence of competence in key skills is welcomed, although success in the Key Skills qualification forms no part of the School's formal entry requirements.
Other
Candidates who already possess a degree must have achieved a 2:1 or above. GCSE Mathematics grade C, English grade C.
Interviewing Policy
All applicants, selected on their qualifications, academic reference and personal statement, are invited for interview. At interview applicants are also required to demonstrate a number of non-academic criteria such as commitment to and a basic understanding of pharmacy. No offer is made without an interview.
