Entry Requirements
Cardiff University offers more than 380 undergraduate degree programmes. The modular structure of these courses also enables you to have a high level of flexibility and choice within individual degree programmes. Although the Undergraduate Prospectus and on-line course finder show typical offers at A-level in terms of tariff points and/or grades for individual courses, many other entry qualifications are also acceptable.
The following pages cover a number of entry routes to study a degree at Cardiff University. They include typical entry requirements for students taking the Irish Leaving Certificate, the International and European Baccalaureate, BTEC courses, Access courses, Scottish Highers and Vocational A-levels, as well as the interviewing policies of individual Schools and typical offers at A-level/AS. Those students considering joint honours courses should view requirements for both academic schools (offers will typically be in line with the higher of the two offers and will include any subject specific requirements for both courses). Entry qualifications are set by the individual academic school; please refer to the relevant academic school if you require more detailed guidance.
