Masters Enrolment for New SSRM Students 2013/14

Enrolment for all new Masters students in 2013/14 will take place on-line – access to the enrolment process is via this Cardiff University web page.

Once you have accepted your offer of a place to study on the SSRM programme, the University’s Academic Registry will contact you with details on how to enrol on-line. You will be able to access the on-line enrolment facility 5 weeks before your degree course begins in late September, therefore the Academic Registry will be contacting you on this towards the end of August.

Please note, students will also be choosing their modules for the year on-line.  You will be prompted to do this once you have completed the enrolment process.  Prior to doing this, you will have been sent a Pre-enrolment pack which will include details on all modules running in 2013/14. For full-time students you will note that the majority of these are core and should automatically appear on your students record in SIMS (Student Information Management System).

Postgraduate Induction Day

New SSRM students will be sent details of the SSRM Induction Day which will be taking place on Wednesday, 25th September 2013 (9.30 am – 4.30 pm) in the Glamorgan Building.  The morning session will comprise generic information presenting all aspects of being a Postgraduate student and also information on the University’s facilities specific to Postgraduate students.  In the afternoon, students will meet their Core Module Convenors, and be given programme-specific information.  The day ends with an Academic and Social Event for all SSRM students.

Induction Week Events

Specific information sessions for all new SSRM students have been scheduled to take place in Induction Week (week commencing 23rd September 2013).  These will cover study skills, library skills and assessment.  Students whose first language is not English should attend a diagnostic session in order that we can ascertain the support they will need throughout the academic year.

Further details on all sessions is available to download now from the 'Resources' box in the right hand column.

First Week of Classes

Classes will begin on Monday 30th September 2013.
