Postgraduate Information Fair: Visit us on Thursday, 23 April
Postgraduate researchers at Cardiff benefit from working within a dynamic research environment alongside staff who are working at the frontiers of knowledge in their disciplines. This research culture generates an exciting and vibrant learning community, reinforces the University’s links with industry and commerce, and contributes to high-quality teaching and excellent career development support.
Cardiff University set up the University Graduate College to support postgraduate researchers and to foster an intellectually stimulating environment through encouraging postgraduate research students to become part of the wider research community. The University Graduate College provides academic-led training and development for postgraduate researchers, and enables researcher development through opportunities for involvement in student-led conferences and for obtaining funding for student-led interdisciplinary activities.

The University’s provision of comprehensive and integrated support to help all early career researchers, both postgraduate researchers and research staff, to develop their transferable and career development skills was shortlisted for the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards for the "Outstanding Support for Early Career Researchers" category in 2010. In the same year, Cardiff University won the Award in the "Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Development" category for our programme, Leadership and Management Development Programme for Research Team Leaders.
