Sustainable Energy and Environment is naturally an up and coming area for all fields of engineering so to have the chance to study the field and remain in Cardiff for another year was simply a natural choice to take. Hopefully it will give me an advantage to get into a job I feel passionate about and feel like I can make a difference. The course had secured funding also which makes my final year a little easier!
The location of Cardiff is excellent to escape to the mountains and sea whilst the city itself is constantly developing and good times can be found with ease. The huge number of students in Cardiff makes for entertaining evenings and large social circles, no matter what kind of study you are involved in.
Having the Millennium Stadium close and with Wales being a rugby nation, the atmosphere on match days can be electric and should definitely be experienced. With the student area so close to the centre of town, one can walk almost anywhere they need within the city, whilst escaping into the wild is easy and quick in a car.
All in all, my experience of Cardiff has been that of an excellent, interesting and engaging course coupled with great surfing and windsurfing just half an hour away.
