House Hunting for Continuing Students
The 2010 House Hunting Event will run from Wednesday 18th - Friday 20th August.
The House Hunting Event is open to current EU/Overseas postgraduate students who have been living in halls of residence for their first year, and will be leaving halls for the subsequent years while continuing their studies at the university (in most cases this will mean PhD students, but the event is open to Masters students where appropriate).
If you fall under the above category and wish to participate in the event, it is assumed that you will not require accommodation in halls of residence for the event. Therefore, we are able to offer the event at a reduced rate of £10.00, which includes invitation to the orientation and ice-breaker sessions on the Wednesday, where new postgraduate students and potential housemates can meet. A buffet dinner will be provided.
Current UK postgraduates who are continuing their studies, and who may wish to meet new housemates in order to look for new accommodation in the private sector, may also take advantage of this option.
Advance booking is required for this event as we are unable to take payment on the day. Please refer to the instructions below.
Booking a Place
If you wish to book a place on the House Hunting Event, you will need to do the following:
- Download and print a copy of the House Hunting Event Booking form
- When you fill in the form, please write 'Current Student' at the top of the form in block capital letters.
- Select the Reception-only option (no accommodation)
- Please include your payment - preferably by card payment, or by cheque made payable to Cardiff University.
You can either post your completed form and payment to us (the address is on the bottom of the form), or alternatively, you are welcome to visit us at the Postgraduate Recruitment Office (Deri House, 2-4 Park Grove - 2nd Floor) if you wish to hand in your form personally.
Please note: if you wish to book a place for the House Hunting Event, you should return a completed booking form to us, as outlined above, by early August. Please also note that, for this booking option, we will be unable to offer a refund in the event of you cancelling your attendance at the event.
