Your Offer
The Offer Letter
If you are offered a place on a postgraduate programme, your offer will be either:
Unconditional: This means that you do not need to send further proof of your qualifications or English Language level.
Conditional: This means that you must fulfil all the conditions before you are permitted to enrol. If an offer of admission is conditional on examination results or an English language test, evidence of these should be forwarded to the Postgraduate Registry as soon as they are available. Once you have met the conditions your offer will become 'Unconditional'.
Accepting your Offer
You must now consider the variety of offers you may have received from different universities. If you wish to accept an offer of admission to study at Cardiff University it is essential that you complete and return the acceptance slip at the foot of your offer letter, or notify the Registry by email (to admissions@cardiff.ac.uk). We will consider you as having a firm place once you have accepted our offer and met any conditions specified in the offer letter.
Applying for University Residences (EU and International Students only)
For EU and International students who wish to apply for university accommodation, it will only be possible to allocate you accommodation when you have firmly accepted and met the conditions of your offer. Once you have been made an offer, you will be sent information on university residences. Applications are submitted online - please see our accommodation page for EU and International students for more details.
Coming to Cardiff
Once you have contacted the Postgraduate Registry and it is confirmed that you have achieved the results needed to come to Cardiff, the following information will be sent to you:
Enrolment Information: Details of the online enrolment process are despatched from July onwards to all students who have satisfied the conditions attached to their offer. Please see the enrolment website for further information.
Offer of Accommodation and Information Pack (EU and International applicants only): The Residences Office will notify you of where you have been allocated a place in an Offer of Accommodation and Information Pack. This will include all the information you need to take up your place in one of our halls of residence.
Pre-arrival in the UK
If you are an EU or International student you are entitled to apply for our coach collection service from Heathrow and Cardiff airports. There may be a small charge for the service. The coach collection service is coordinated by the International Development Division; further details including a link to the online booking form will be sent to you during the summer.
