All students need be in Cardiff for the start of Induction Week, Monday 22 September 2014. During Induction Week there are important meetings to attend, you will take our entry test and you will be able to meet your tutors and other students on the course. You will receive a lot of important information in this week which will help you settle into academic life at Cardiff University, so it is very important that you arrive for the start of induction on 22 September 2014.
With Helen Evans (Director, English Language Programmes for International Students), Steve Jorgensen-Corfield (Pre-sessional Manager) and Sheila Griffin (Associate Pre-sessional Coordinator) You will be given an appointment card for your speaking test time on Tuesday morning.
Compulsory Entry Test
Students are tested with a multiple choice language test and written text.
A walking tour of the University campus with your teachers.
Compulsory Speaking Test
All students to meet in Deri House for a speaking test. Please collect your appointment card for your fee-taking and counselling session on Wednesday morning.
FREE AFTERNOON TO COMPLETE NECESSARY TASKS
After you have completed your speaking test, do not forget to collect your student ID card and bank letters, register with the Police (check your visa to see if you need to) and register with a local doctor.
Fee-taking and Counselling
Please go to Deri House to complete enrolment. We will check the fee-payment or sponsorship of all students and collect information about your future studies.

If you are already in the UK, we would like to help you make sure that you have the correct visa to enrol at Cardiff University. It is very important that you make sure you have a suitable visa to enrol at Cardiff University. Please contact an International Student Advisor and remember to give your full name, student number and state that you will study on a Pre-sessional programme.
