If you arrive in the evening or on the weekend, please remember that the English Language Programmes office is closed in the evenings and on the weekend

This document is the form that you will need to fill in when you register at the residence. You can print it now and bring it to Cardiff with you, or there will be copies available when you arrive at the residence.
Pre-sessional residences agreement
To access the university computer network in your room in halls of residence (RESLAN), you will need to test your computer’s security requirements with the computer you will be using before you travel.
If your computer does not have sufficient security, you will have to improve the security to the university’s minimum standard of security before you will be able to use the computer to access the network.
If you are going to live in University residences, please visit this webpage to see what you need to do so that you can use your computer in your room.

To check whether your computer meets the minimum security requirements for use on the University network, please access the Internet with the machine you are bringing with you and click on the link below (note - do this again just before you leave home, to make sure nothing has changed).
If your computer fails the test please make sure you rectify any issues before trying to connect to RESLAN. Remember it's your responsibility to make sure your machine has anti-virus software installed, is virus-free and is set to receive automatic security updates.

If you are already in the UK, we would like to help you make sure that you have the correct visa to enrol at Cardiff University. It is very important that you make sure you have a suitable visa to enrol at Cardiff University. Please contact an International Student Advisor and remember to give your full name, student number and state that you will study on a Pre-sessional programme.
