Welcome to Cardiff!
Many congratulations on gaining your place of study at Cardiff University. The information and documents below contain very important information that you need to know about coming to Cardiff for your course in 2015. Please read everything carefully and get in touch if you have any questions.
There are three stages to enrolment:
It is important that you complete both online and school enrolment. If you do not fully enrol at the University you will not be able to go to class, access university buildings, or remain in the UK.
You will receive an email which will tell you how to enrol online. You should try to do this before you arrive in Cardiff. If you are not able to, do not worry - we will help you to do it when you are here in Cardiff!
It is essential that you tell us of any changes to your correspondence and e-mail address so that we can continue to keep in touch with you during the coming months. It is very important we have your correct details. We will need to send important information to you about joining the course.

You must collect your University Identity Card after you have arrived at the University. More information on how to collect your Identity Card will be given to you when you arrive for the course.
You must attend all events on the Induction schedule. A copy of the schedule will be available soon.
The cheapest way to travel to Cardiff from London Heathrow Airport is by National Express Coach. Coaches leave approximately every hour, with fewer coaches leaving during the night. A single journey from Heathrow to Cardiff is approximately £30 - £45 and takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes. You can buy your ticket online or at the National Express Booking Office in Heathrow airport. Follow signs for the Central Bus Station from the arrivals into terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4. If you are arriving into terminal 5, check at the information desk. Please read everything carefully!
All students need be in Cardiff for the start of Induction Week, Thursday 8 January 2015. During Induction Week there are important meetings to attend, you will take our entry test and you will be able to meet your tutors and other students on the course. You will receive a lot of important information in this week which will help you settle into academic life at Cardiff University, so it is very important that you arrive for the start of induction on 8 January 2015.

Compulsory Entry Test
Students are tested with multiple choice language test, written text and short interview.
Come to room 1.11 in Deri House to pay your course fees or discuss your sponsorship details. Please remember that the best way to pay is by cheque or bank draft made payable to ‘Cardiff University’!
Enrolment and Academic Counselling
We will ask students for more information about their future academic plans. Students will have a chance to ask any questions about enrolment or the course here.
We will give you an appointment card for your walking tour.
ID Card and Bank Letter Collection
We will give you an appointment card telling you where to go and at what time.
A discussion of course expectations, performance, assessment, module content, timetabling and reports with Shaun Tiddy.It is compulsory to attend this meeting.
If you are unsure of how to get to the Large Chemistry Lecture Theatre, please meet your teachers outside Deri House or the Main Building at 2:50pm.
