Cardiff University welcomes students from Uganda every year to the University and is pleased to see annual enrolment numbers on the rise. The International Office visits Uganda at least once a year to conduct interviews and to attend exhibitions with both the British Council and educational agents. Additionally, presentations have been made at a number of Kampala’s international schools.

Cardiff University has a historic link with the prestigious Makarere University, with Cardiff’s School of Dentistry working closely with many healthcare specialists and the Ministry of Health.

Undergraduate courses

You will be required to hold international A-levels or the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (A-level) with strong grades to qualify for Cardiff University's undergraduate programmes.

Cardiff University will also consider students with the International Baccalaureate or a Foundation programme from a reputable institution for entry on to undergraduate programmes.

Postgraduate taught courses

You will be required to have an undergraduate degree in a related field, with strong grades. The majority of Schools will require a minimum of an Upper Second (2.1) grade at undergraduate level, although there are some exceptions.

Work experience can also contribute towards gaining a placement in many subjects as well.

Postgraduate research programmes

You will require a master's degree with a high grade, particularly in the research elements, to be considered for Cardiff University's postgraduate research programmes.

English language

We require a minimum of a C grade in your Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE or O-level), or IGCSE if you are studying the international system.

We visit Uganda at least once a year to conduct interviews with interested students, and attended exhibitions with both the British Council and our educational agents.
