When should I arrive in the UK?
If you are coming to Cardiff University in January on an Erasmus
Exchange or Study Abroad programme you should arrive on Monday 19 January.
What should I do when I arrive?
If you have applied
for and booked University Accommodation, you will be able to move into your
room in University Residences on Monday 19 January. Members of staff from the Global Opportunity Centre will be waiting to
greet you at the Talybont Halls of Residences, in the Talybont Social Centre on
Monday 19 January from 10.00 until 15.00 (Campus map ref. 3). If you arrive after 15.00 on Monday 19
January, you should go directly to your accommodation.
Staying in private accommodation?
If you hoping
to stay in private accommodation. We
recommend that you arrive a few days before Monday 19 January and book
temporary hotel accommodation to stay in for a few days whilst you look for
private accommodation. Staff will be
available to help you find private accommodation at the welcome talks which
start at 10.30 on Tuesday 20 January.
If you have
already booked your private accommodation, you will need to arrange the pick up
your keys from your landlord in Cardiff.
So you should go directly to your accommodation.
Unexpected late arrivals
If you arrive unexpectedly late in the evening or early in the
morning and you have not been able to inform Residences of your late arrival,
you should go directly to the Security Office next to the Psychology Tower
opposite 51 Park Place.
The Security Office will then arrange for you to be let into
your University accommodation.
