The International Division, jointly with the Students' Union, runs induction programmes in September and January specifically designed for Study Abroad and international students.
The Induction Programme will introduce you to the University, the City and its surroundings as well as to life as a student in Cardiff. The programme of events includes trips, talks, helpful advice and entertainment. Click here for further information.

Personal Tutor

Every study abroad student will be allocated a personal tutor at Cardiff. Your personal tutor will be able to offer you advice on academic issues, including module choice and assessment. Your Personal Tutor will be located in your ‘Home School’ (the School (department) in which you are studying the majority of your modules).
If you encounter any problems which affect your studies during your time at Cardiff, your personal tutor should always be your first point of contact; they will be able to put you in touch with the student support services provided by the University and the Students' Union as appropriate.

‘Buddy’ System

Every Study Abroad student will be allocated a student ‘buddy’. This will be a student based in your Home School that has already spent a year studying in that School and has a wealth of local knowledge. They can offer you advice on everything related to the University or the city. A fellow student’s perspective is always useful!
