Things to do and see
Cardiff is an exciting place to be at the moment; there are many cultural, social and sporting activities to become involved in. For up-to-date information on what's on, the Students' Union publishes a free weekly newspaper called Gair Rhydd (Welsh for 'Free Word') which contains full listings. This is available from the Students' Union or in the refectories around the University campus.
Cardiff provides a great social life for people with all kinds of interests. Cardiff Students' Union has over 150 societies including many dedicated to International students. These societies are run by students for students and are a great way to meet people. They often put on events, social evenings and trips. National Museum and Gallery
In the heart of the city and the University campus this is Wales's leading cultural museum.
Museum of Welsh Life
A short drive away from the city this outdoor museum creates the atmosphere of the rural villages of Wales from the coal mining years.
Chapter Arts Centre
The primary venue for 'alternative' theatre and arts, there is also an art-house cinema here.

Learn the Welsh Language
