Cardiff & Wales

Heath is located a little bit further out of the city centre than Roath and Cathays and is quieter. The area is mainly populated by third-years, postgraduates and families.

Heath, which is close to the Heath Park Campus, is especially good for those doing medicine-based/healthcare courses due to its close proximity to the Heath Park campus and the University Hospital of Wales.

Key features

  • Close to the Heath Park Campus
  • Close to Heath Park - a generous park with tennis courts, mini golf, rugby fields and a miniature railway
  • Close to local shops
  • Quiet, residential area

Compared to Cathays, Heath is a quiet area and although there is an increasing number of students, many of the houses are also privately owned.

Heath has a Co-op, a Doctor’s Surgery, several pharmacies and small shops of all types. Maindy Pool and Talybont Sports Centre are also close by offering swimming and gym facilities, a running track and various fitness classes. For the outdoor types, Heath Park offers lots of space for running, outdoor sports and also a mini golf course!
