The Womens Medical Students Fund
This fund is used to assist women medical students who are in need of financial assistance. Maximum award £500.
Students may qualify for assistance if they are studying full-time for a medical or intercalated degree, can show that they are in genuine financial hardship and have explored other ways of supporting themselves.
Students must have taken out the full Student Loan to which they are entitled and have applied for help from the Financial Contingency Fund.
The financial difficulties must have arisen from unforeseen circumstances not evident at the start of the course. For example: Family/Child Care responsibilities, Equipment Expenses, Medical Expenses, Excessive Travel Costs, Self Financing, Disability/Special Needs. Funds will not normally be used to cover unpaid assessed parental contributions. All application forms must be accompanied by an academic reference.
