Speech by Alun Davies AM, Cabinet Secretary for Local Government and Public Services.

Cabinet Secretary for Local Government and Public Services Alun Davies AM has called for "a new relationship with local government". He has said "it may well be the case that after nearly two decades of devolved government our democracy is maturing and the relationship between a more powerful Welsh parliament and more powerful local authorities will be one where we can learn to govern together as a single Welsh public service." In this lecture he will set out his thinking on culture, relationships and democracy twenty years after devolution, asking "how do we start acting like a modern empowered democracy"?

There will be welcome drinks from 6pm and the speech will begin at 6.30pm.
