Professor Cole's research interests are in the sphere of contemporary and comparative European politics policy, with special reference to France and Franco-British comparisons. He has led a series of comparative research projects on territorial and multi-level governance, public administration and the state, public policy, European integration and capacity building. His recent publications include: Governance in France (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2008) and developments in French Politics 4 (co-edited with Patrick Le Galés and Jonah levy, Palgrave, 2008)as well as numerous papers in leading political science and area studies journals.
