On the 26th April 2012 the International Affairs Research Group, in partnership with the United Nations Association-Wales and the Welsh Centre for International Affairs hosted an event exploring the Russian position on the crisis in Syria and the Middle East.
Mr Denis Temnikov, First Secretary at the Russian Embassy, spoke to a large group of students, staff, activists and members of the public. His address focused on Russian foreign policy objectives in the Middle East including the Israel-Palestine situation, The Annan plan for Syria and the prospect of a Nuclear Iran. The Q&A was conducted under the Chatham House rule and was therefore not recorded.
