Language Based Area Studies: Cardiff and Swansea Come Together. A training event was held in Swansea University on 9th November dedicated to the theme of Political Identity. The event was attended by five members of staff and 12 PhD students from Swansea and Cardiff. Professor Alistair Cole, the pathway coordinator, declared the event to be a great success: 'our thanks go to our Swansea colleagues for putting on such a good day. The presentation of distinct normative, empirical and post-modern approaches to political identity was extremely instructive, for staff and students alike'.
The event Identity Politics Workshop was the first in a series planned for the academic year 2012-2013.
