Gendered Research Opportunities - Essay Competition
12th April 2013
The expression ‘Where are the Women’? is associated with liberal feminist theory and it seeks to address why so few women seem to exercise a significant influence over politics and political society. This essay competition invites you to interpret the question in light of some of the materials you have studied and the experiences that you have had throughout your time as a Politics student at Cardiff University. Entrants should feel free to ‘read’ the question in any way that interests or inspires them.
The competition is open to all Undergraduates studying Politics (single or joint honours). All essays must be referenced, using the Harvard system and a 10% allowance (above and below the 2000 word limit) is permitted. References are not included in the word count. General Politics Marking Criteria will apply and all submissions will be assessed by GRO’s founders. The essay cover sheet should be inserted as the first page of your submission.
The top three essays will be awarded cash prizes and a prize-winners’ certificate. The top five candidates will be given the opportunity to present their findings at GRO’s inaugural in-house conference.
The closing date for the competition is Monday 23rd September and entries must be submitted electronically to email@example.com.
