Dr Gordon Cumming elected to the Royal Historical Society

Dr Gordon Cumming, Reader at Cardiff University, Cardiff School of European Languages, Translation and Politics, was elected to the Royal Historical Society in recognition of his significant contribution to research on British, French and European foreign and development politics towards sub-Saharan Africa. His other research interests focus on NGOs, civil society capacity building and good governance. He has taught as a professeur invité at Sciences Po Bordeaux and has just completed a large British Academy-funded project on Anglo-French cooperation. He has prepared reports for Chatham House and IFRI, written three books and published numerous chapters and articles in top-quartile journals.
