Poetry reading and translation

On Tuesday 12 November the German poet Jörg Bernig will visit Cardiff University. Jörg is Writer in Residence at Swansea University, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service, the DAAD.
Jörg was born in 1964 in Wurzen in Saxony, GDR. He is an energetic writer who has also worked as a teacher and foreign language assistant in Scotland and Wales. He has published 8 literary works, many translated into Rumanian, Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Italian and Czech. In November the first English translation of his poems will be published with Hafan Books in Swansea. More information about Jörg Bernig.
Jörg will read from his work (poetry and prose) at 11.00 am in the Glamorgan Council Chamber of the Glamorgan Building.
The reading will be followed by a translation session under the aegis of Marc Schweissinger and a group of his students. Later there will be time to discus Jörg’s poetry and the translations. The event will last one hour.
