Enrolment Information 2012 - year 1
Please do NOT enrol on any modules on SIMS Online before meeting your Personal Tutor and attending School enrolment on Wednesday 26 September.
The information on these pages is a brief guide to the main Enrolment events taking place during Enrolment week (Monday 24 September – Friday 28 September).
Before enrolment week you should read the essential information in the HUMSS Year One Enrolment and Subject Guide and relevant academic subject information on the Humanities Enrolment Information page.
Please note Translation is available as a third subject for BA students. EU8100 and EU8101 should be taken together if you wish to continue with Translation into year 2. However they are also available separately as free standing modules.
Main Enrolment events for all new students are outlined below.

Welcome Events Tuesday 25 September, 09:30 - 10:00.
Programmes with Languages (including Translation): Room 2.27, Law Building, Park Place (map ref: 28).
Programmes with Politics / Cardiff-Bordeaux Joint Degree/Diploma: Stanley Parris Lecture Theatre, Tower Building, Park Place (map ref: 27).
See the Welcome Event page for details of which event to attend. NB If you are a Joint Honours student and your Welcome Events clash, please attend ONE event only – the events cover similar ground and you will not be disadvantaged!
Personal Tutor meetings: Tuesday 25 September. Details will be emailed to you on or before 24 September, also see listings on notice boards in the School's foyer at 65-68 Park Place (map ref: 24) on Tuesday 25 September. NB Single honours students to see Personal Tutor from 10:00. Joint Honours students to see Personal Tutors from 13:00 (‘Home’ school tutor must be seen first).
School Enrolment: Wednesday 26 September. Humanities Building* (map ref: 16), from 09:00 – 12:00 (Session 1 – Additional Subject Enrolment) and 13:00 – 14:00 (Session 2 – Honours Enrolment and Online Enrolment).
*Details of the rooms for School Enrolment will be supplied in the foyer of the Humanities Building on the day.
Introductory Talks (subject-specific): Friday 28 September. The Introductory Talks timetable is included in the Humanities and Social Studies Year 1 Enrolment and Subject Guide, available on the Humanities & Social Studies Enrolment Information page.
Note that the introductory talk for BA Translation will take place at 16:00 on Friday 28 September, room 2.18, 65-68 Park Place.

Module Timetables and Reading Lists
You will receive module timetables and detailed module kits/reading lists at subject-specific Introductory Talks, or at the first lecture, or via Learning Central.
