- 14:00 – 15:00 Elly Barnes - LGBT Schools Advisor Birmingham City Council.
Elly Barnes was voted No: 1 in The Independent on Sundays Pink List 2011 for her commitment to LGBT in education and awarded a ‘highly commended’ by the TES ‘Teacher of the Year’ 2012.
'Educate and Celebrate - How to make your school LGBT friendly'
Elly has been celebrating LGBT History month in schools for the last 8 years and has developed her ‘Educate and Celebrate’ program for schools drawing on her experiences of implementing the most effective strategies in the classroom to inform best practise. The course gives confidence to teachers and the tools to challenge homophobia and engage students in an inclusive LGBT curriculum. Elly will share and discuss her strategies with a view to encouraging all workplaces to 'Educate and Celebrate'. “Educating through the curriculum is key to creating an enlightened environment in which our teachers and students can thrive and be who they want to be without fear of discrimination”
- 15:00 - 15:30: Mathew Williams - Disability Adviser, Student Support Cardiff University.
Mathew’s role involves providing practical disability advice to those applying to study at the university and students and staff of the university.
‘'Working with Disabled Students - 'Reasonably''
Mathew will be looking at working with disabled students, and reasonable adjustments and alterations.

15.45 - 16.30: Isabella Santamaria – HR Equality and Diversity Manager for staff at Cardiff University. Isabella Santamaria has years of experience in educating staff on Equality and Diversity Issues.
‘Dignity at work and study’
This talk will be touching on issues of bullying and harassment and ways of challenging inappropriate behaviour.
