Children of Exile: trauma, memory and testimony in Jaime Camino's "Los niños de Rusia" (2001)


Dr Julián Daniel Gutiérrez Albilla is a Lecturer at Newscastle University. His research and teaching interests are in Spanish and Latin American cinema, Visual Arts, Gender Studies and Psychoanalysis. He is the author of QUEERING BUÑUEL: SEXUAL DISSIDENCE AND PSYCHOANALYSIS IN HIS MEXICAN AND SPANISH CINEMA (London & New York, 2008), and has published on Spanish and Latin American cinema in some of the major Hispanic Studies and Cinema Studies journals. He is currently co-editing a book on women filmmakers in Spain and Latin America and preparing a Blackwell Companion to Buñuel. He is also working on questions of memory and trauma in contemporary Spanish fiction and documentary filmmaking.
