Postgraduate Funding - President's Scholarships
The President’s Research Scholarships are “flagship” Cardiff awards which carry the prestige of association with the University’s new President, the Nobel Prize for Medicine (2007) winner, Professor Sir Martin Evans. The Scholarships will attract new students seeking to work on exciting and challenging projects in dynamic and well-resourced research environments under the supervision of successful and established researchers.
The Scholarships will be of interest to the highest quality candidates – those eligible for funding as President Scholars will have a first-class honours degree, or a 2.1 plus a postgraduate Masters degree (or their equivalents).
Applications are invited under the following research topics:
Re-constructing Multiculturalism
Societies around the world are becoming increasingly diverse in ethnic, religious and cultural terms. (Re)-Constructing Multiculturalism is a new, cutting-edge venture within the Humanities Schools at Cardiff University, bringing together academic staff and postgraduate students in humanities and social science disciplines to study and analyse how we are dealing with that diversity. (Re)-Constructing Multiculturalism will consist of a research network that links together a series of workshops, seminars, and conferences, along with a number of PhD scholarships to support postgraduate work in this area.
For 2012-13 there will be two 'fees-only' awards, and two 'full' awards (covering fees AND stipend).
