Dr Luca Ratti
Dr. Luca Ratti completed his PhD with Cardiff University in 2004. His Thesis was entitled ‘Italy and Nato Extension: Does the realist analytical paradigm provide an adequate theoretical framework for understanding Italian support for Nato Extension to the Balkans?’
He now teaches international relations at Roma Tre University and the American University of Rome. In March 2008 he organised an international conference on the Brussels Treaty hosted at AUR. The conference was called ‘The Brussels Treaty and Its Legacy: A Reassessment of European Security and Defence Issues on its 60th Anniversary (1948-2008)’ and was held in Rome. Dr Ratti successfully negotiated the pitfalls of moving between American and Italian institutions. Academically, it was an invaluable opportunity to put together scholars from different disciplines and different experiences.
