Dr Siân Edwards

Dr Siân Edwards is a Lecturer in Hispanic Studies. She teaches modules on contemporary Spanish Politics and History and Spanish Language modules. She is also developing a programme through the medium of Welsh. Some publications include ‘A Short History of Catalonia’ and 'The Road to Autonomy'.

Her Doctoral Thesis was entitled ‘The Catalan Political Parties and National Identity in the New Europe: From Nation-State to Nation-Region’ and was completed with Cardiff University in 2004. Her Research now focuses on issues relating to regionalism and national identity in Spain, with a special interest in Catalonia. Her PhD Thesis was entitled ‘The Catalan Political Parties and National Identity in the New Europe: From Nation-State to Nation-Region’.
