Dr Lisa Jayne Davies

Now Deputy Head of the International Office at UWIC University, Dr Lisa Davies completed her PhD with the School in June 2003. Her Thesis was entitled ‘Marginalised Voices: Myth and the Oppression of Gendered and Racialised Subjects in the Prose Fiction of Rosario Castellanos’.

She joined the International Office at UWIC in 2003 as an International Marketing Officer, and two years ago was appointed Deputy Head. Within her current role, she is responsible for managing and overseeing the international recruitment strategy and coordinating the activities of colleagues within the International Office involved in UWIC’s international marketing function. In addition to managerial responsibilities within the International Office, she is the University’s country manager for India, Sri Lanka, Korea and Hong Kong. She also manages several initiatives such as the recruitment of Canadian students to UWIC’s PGCE courses through the CANTEACH organisation. She travels extensively within her role, meeting and working with people from all over the world.
