Roger Birch

Roger Birch - Foreman (Building)
Roger has the responsibility of supervising the Direct Labour Unit building section which include Carpenters and Works Assistants.  He also manages on a day to day basis the joinery workshop.  Roger with his team carries out reactive and planned maintenance to the University building fabric.  He also prepares estimates for small / medium rechargeable works for the approval of budget holders.  Roger links closely with Brian Jenkins and Kelvin Norris as a lot of jobs require Mechanical & Electrical involvement.

Nick Kent - Services Supervisor (Mechanical)
Nick is responsible for a team of mechanical fitters and plumbers in the Direct Labour Unit.  This includes organising labour and materials to attend to the day to day reactive plumbing faults across campus as well as statutory planned preventative mechanical maintenance works / checks as necessary.
Nick also manages external mechanical contracting staff to supplement the DLO as and when necessary.

Paul McCabe - Services Supervisor (Electrical)
Paul is responsible for a team of electricians in the Direct Labour Unit.  This includes organising labour and materials to attend to the day to day reactive electrical faults across campus as well as statutory planned preventative electrical maintenance works / checks as necessary.
Paul also manages external electrical contracting staff to supplement the DLO as and when necessary.

John Blakemore

John Blakemore - Senior Plant Attendant
John is responsible for a team of plant attendants / works assistants in the Direct Labour Unit who look after the planned preventative maintenance checks on boiler houses, plant rooms heating, ventilation and steam systems across campus.  The plants attendants / works assistants in this team have many varied tasks to carry out on the plant including statutory steam plant operation temperature monitoring, filter / belt / washer changes, coil cleaning, oiling / greasing etc.
