Estates Access Consultation Group

The Estates Access Consultation Group is a forum for disabled people, where staff and students have the opportunity to discuss aspects of the University campus which they find disabling.

The group is run by two representatives from Estates, Jim Atkinson and Sian Thomas and members comprise of academic and support staff and students with different types of disabilities.

The aim of the group is to establish accessibility guidelines for improving access in existing buildings and for designs of new buildings and major refurbishments.

The Consultation Group has links with an external group, the Cardiff and Vale Coalition of Disabled People (CVCDP).  Representatives from the CVCDP attend meetings and provide a source of advice.

The group meets regularly to discuss specific issues of the physical estate and we welcome new members.  If you would like to join, please contact us on estate-accessibility@cardiff.ac.uk
