The lift to the right of the main entrance provides access to the upper East Wing floors. The Library is situated on the first floor and is accessed via this lift.
The lift to the left of the main entrance (photograph above) provides access to the West and Central wings of the Sir Martin Evans Building. Use this lift for level access to the John Pryde and Physiology B Lecture Theatres. You will require an updated University swipe card to use this lift.
Refreshments and Resting Areas
There is a coffee shop and seating area to the right of the main entrance.
Emergency Evacuation
In the event of an emergency evacuation, the lifts must not be used. For anyone unable to safely evacuate the building using the stairs, there are safe refuge points located at stair wells and lifts.
Follow the clearly labelled emergency signs (green running man) to the refuge point. When at the refuge point you must use the intercom and speak to Security to inform them of your location and that you require assistance. Security will communicate information to you in relation to what is happening and reassure you. You should remain in the refuge area until advised otherwise or someone comes to your assistance.
If you think you might require assistance in the event of an emergency evacuation, you must arrange a Personalised Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) as soon as possible. Students must contact their School Disability Contact to arrange a PEEP. Staff will need to contact their School / Division Disability Contact or their manager to arrange a PEEP. Please remember that it is your responsibility to inform the relevant person that you require a PEEP to be set up.
