To reserve a parking space in advance telephone Glamorgan Building reception on 029 2087 5179. Please provide the following details: car registration, date and purpose of visit. Temporary parking permits will be issued and entry through the security barrier can be arranged. Please inform the porter if you require assistance.
There is public street parking along King Edward VII Avenue very close to the Glamorgan Building entrance and path to the accessible entrance. Blue Badge holders can park in any of these spaces free of charge.

There is a revolving door to enter the building.
The accessible entrance to the Glamorgan Building, is located down a short path to the left of the building.
The accessible entrance door can be accessed from King Edward VII Avenue and the car park (photograph below).
This entrance is restricted for security purposes and can only be opened with a validated University identification card.
Please contact your tutor, manager or security if you wish to validate your card to use this entrance door.
The card reader is at an accessible height and when activated the door opens automatically.
There is a shallow ramp leading from the entrance door into the corridor.
Visitors and infrequent building users: please use the intercom at the side of the door to contact reception to open the door. It is advised to contact reception before visiting if you do not have a validated University I.D. card.

The Glamorgan Building reception is accessed via stairs from the main entrance.

The emergency exit route is clearly labelled (the green running man). Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the exits and exit routes.
If you think you might require assistance in the event of an emergency evacuation, you must arrange a Personalised Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) as soon as possible. Students must contact their School Disability Contact to arrange a PEEP. Staff will need to contact their School / Division Disability Contact or manager to arrange a PEEP. Please remember that it is your responsibility to inform the relevant person that you require a PEEP to be set up.
In an emergency evacuation the lifts must not be used. For anyone unable to safely evacuate using the stairs, there are safe refuge points located in every stair well on each upper floor. Refuge points are sign posted. When at the refuge point, you must use the phones, which go directly to Security when picked up. You must inform Security of your location and that you require assistance. Security will communicate information to you in relation to what is happening and reassure you. You must remain in the refuge area until advised otherwise or someone comes to your assistance. Refuge points are located such as to provide a safe area for at least 30 minutes in the event of a real fire.
Lower Ground Floor (lift level B): Accessible side entrance, accessible toilet, lift and pool rooms.
Upper Ground Floor (lift level 0): Main entrance, reception and coffee shop. Pool Rooms and School of Social Sciences.
First Floor (lift level 1): School of Geography and Planning, and School of Social Sciences.
Second Floor (lift level 2): School of Geography and Planning, and School of Social Sciences.
Third Floor (lift level 3): School of Planning and Geography.
