Venue

Front entrance to the main University building.

Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is the youngest capital city of Europe. However, its history goes back to the days of the Roman Empire; the remains of the Roman stone fortifications can be seen within the walls of Cardiff Castle. Cardiff's reputation as one of Britain's six cities of elegance arises from its remarkable civic centre, regarded as being a world-ranking example of civic architecture.

DSP2007 will take place in the Main Building of Cardiff University, one of the white buildings forming the elegant civic centre. The venue is located in the city centre with its museums, theatres, hotels, large shopping district and Cardiff Castle. It is also a short distance from Cardiff Bay, a major regeneration area and a place to such attractions as the new Millennium Centre, the recently opened National Assembly for Wales building, numerous restaurants and bars.
