Joint Honours
Joint Honours in the School
In addition to the Single Honours programmes, the School also offers a range of stimulating Joint Honours programmes that are designed to provide opportunities for interdisciplinary learning and study. Joint Honours students take two honours subjects, choosing half of their modules from each separate subject.
Students can combine any two of the following: English Literature, Cultural Criticism, English Language and Philosophy.

Joint Honours with other Schools
You can also choose to pursue Joint Honours with programmes taught by other Schools at Cardiff, as follows:
- Cultural Criticism and Ancient History/ Archaeology/ French/ German/ Italian/ Music/ Religious Studies/ Spanish/ Welsh, and Joint Honours in Journalism, Media and Cultural Criticism.
- English Literature and Ancient History/ Archaeology/ Education/ French/ German/ History/ Italian/ Music/ Religious Studies/ Spanish/ Welsh
- English Language and French/ German/ Italian/ Spanish/ Welsh
- Philosophy and Ancient History/ Archaeology/ Economics/ French/ German/ History/ Italian/ Music/ Politics/ Religious Studies/ Sociology/ Spanish/ Welsh (please note Philosophy and Welsh joint honours is available only to first-language students).
