Overview
PhD Research
My thesis looks at non-heterosexual maturity narratives from a queer phenomenological perspective, particularly in terms of emerging homonormativities.
I’m interested in discourses of community and queer kinship; hetero- and homonormativities; the relationships between phenomenological experience, ideology and culture, and critical theories of time.
In the summer of 2012 I will be launching a pilot project to gather accounts of ‘growing up queer’ by young British people, in order to establish an online LGBTQ community archive.

Conferences, Symposia and Seminars
I am currently involved in organising a Youth Sexualities conference, aimed at promoting interdisciplinary discussion between postgraduates whose research addresses youth sexualities.
