Richard Wilson is the author of Shakespeare in French Theory: King of Shadows, Secret Shakespeare: Studies in theatre, religion and resistance and Will Power: Essays on Shakespearean authority.
He has edited collections of essays on Julius Caesar and Christopher Marlowe, and co-edited volumes on New Historicism and Renaissance Drama, Theatre and Religion and Region, Religion and Patronage.
He is currently completing Free Will: Essays on Shakespearean autonomy.

Biography
Professor Wilson gave the 2001 British Academy Shakespeare Lecture on the theme of exile: "A World Elsewhere: Shakespeare's Sense of an Exit".
