Professor Emeritus David Rickard

My main interests are in the geochemistry and biogeochemistry of sulphides. My research group focuses on the experimental approach to resolving fundamental issues of sulphide geochemistry and emphasizes geochemical kinetics. These data are used to contribute to understanding prebiotic environments, the early development of the biosphere, pollutants in present-day anoxic environments, and modern ocean vent and ancient sulphide mineralising systems. Although essentially a blue-skies research programme, cooperative studies with industry enhance our research.
