Dr David Reynolds

David’s principal research interests involve developing an understanding of the rate, amplitude and frequency as well as the mechanisms and forcings on variability in the climate system. His current research focus is on developing high-resolution reconstructions, spanning the past millennia, of seawater temperature and ocean dynamics in the North Atlantic region. This work involves the development and application of absolutely dated sclerochronologies and geochemical (carbon and oxygen isotopes) timeseries that utilize the growth increments contained in long-lived marine bivalve molluscs such as Arctica islandica and Glycymeris glycymeris.
