Sensitized Nanostructured Systems for Electricity Generation from Sunlight
Professor Michael Grätzel, a leading international expert in solar energy outlined recent progress in the development of flexible nanostructured photovoltaic devices and their commercial opportunities in his lecture entitled Sensitized Nanostructured Systems for Electricity Generation from Sunlight. He argued that these systems will promote the acceptance of renewable energy technologies, not least by setting new standards of convenience and economy.
Professor Grätzel has pioneered research on electron transfer reactions and their applications in solar energy conversion systems and discovered a revolutionary new type of solar cell based on dye sensitized nanocrystalline semiconducting oxide particles.
