The main aim of PHIRN is to increase the quantity and quality of public health improvement research by bringing together public health researchers, policy makers and practitioners in Wales. The intended outcome of PHIRN activities will be successful project grant applications to major research funders, and rigorous evaluations of new initiatives in policy and practice.
Cardiff Institute of Society and Health (CISHE)
CISHE conducts and co-ordinates methodologically innovative multidisciplinary research, with a strong contribution from the social sciences and within the related domains of biomedicine, health services and public health.
Alcohol Education and Research Council (AREC)
The AERC generates and disseminates research based evidence to inform and influence policy and practice. Develop the capacity of people and organisations to address alcohol issues.
