Ruth is a UK National Teaching Fellow and a director of Co-production Training UK.

In 2012 she initiated 'All in this Together' - an action network which now has over 450 participants from some 217 organisations. Their aim is to place co-production principles at the heart of public services in Wales. Ruth is also involved in a voluntary project to produce an open-access electronic Co-production Resource for people who wish to work in this democratic and participatory way.

She has recently undertaken a consultancy project with Spice social enterprise (one of the Observer's top 50 young radicals) to co-design a co-production and time-credits training programme for Communities First, local authorities and housing associations.

The majority of Ruth$acirc; s professional life has been spent in higher education, most recently as Head of Department of Creative Communications in Cardiff Metropolitan University. Her research interests included learner motivation and engagement, assessment, and the development of student creativity in the broadest sense of the word. She has lectured extensively in China where she is an Associate Professor, and has run creative problem-solving workshops for PhD students in major UK universities.
