Trosolwg

I have taught for Continuing and Professional Education for the past twelve years. I believe in the power of poetry and writing to change people’s lives and the need for language to move and connect to the modern world.

Bywgraffiad

I originally hail from Lincolnshire. I gained a Masters degree at Cardiff University and have previously worked at Sussex University.

When I'm not teaching for Continuing and Professional Education, I write poetry, short stories and features, and run the occasional workshop.

The BBC produced one of my Capture Wales stories called ‘Ties’, which appeared as a segment feature broadcast programme. Other stories accepted for publication include Chapman, New Fiction, International Fern Publications, New Writing Scotland and Cambrensis.

I have also had articles published in Country Quest, Question Magazine, Country Origins, Current Archaeology, This England, The Oldie, Aviation History, Everygreen, Best of British, Classic Boat, Discovering Britain, Cambria, Your Horse, Treasure Hunting, and many other publications.

I am a well-known poet and have had work published in (among others) Dream Catcher, Seam, Iota, Fire, Anglo-Welsh Poetry Society, and Poetry Scotland and in the anthology Che in Verse.

My selected collections include Unlocked (Palores Publications, 2005) and Almost a Doppelganger (Palores Publications, 2006).

Recently I published Cuba Libre: From Revolution to Hip-Hop Rock, a collection of poems which takes the reader on a journey through Cuba from the revolution to hip-hop rock. The poems encompass all the iconic images of the island and reveal the lasting beauty of the ‘land of miracles’.

I believe everyone has a story to tell, and that it’s very important in the process of writing to encourage others in a supportive and positive way.
