Trosolwyg

I am a tri-lingual (Italian, English and Sardinian) Australian-Italian whose thinking and methodology is comparative.

I am an Australianist, trained in post-colonial and transnational theories with teaching and research foci in Migrant and Minority Studies, Italian Diaspora, Subjectivity, Trauma and Memory, Life-Writing and Biography. The problematization of transnational spaces and cultures, especially in relation to national identity, and the exploration of language and translation in contexts of mobility are at the core of my scholarship.

I have also conducted extensive research and teaching on Translation, Adaptation and Transcodification Studies and on Cultural Studies and Photography.

My current research interests are on the Italian ‘diasporas’, especially the latest wave of Italians arrived in Wales during the last two decades, and travel and mobility in the Mediterranean Region and Islands.
